Very Poor quality

This is the second one i have had now that failed prematurely. The first died under warranty and was replaced and this one is a couple years old now so no warranty. It is just more Canadian Tire garbage that is sold at excessive prices and poor quality;.
No, I do not recommend this product.

As figured with most canadian tire brand products , dead out of the box. Return was easy will go with a name brand instead

Great Value

This charger has good features for a great price. The ability to start a dead battery is very helpful. It is also able to to a regular or slow charge as needed. We found this product to be well built and have had no problems with it to date.

Q: For my lawn tractor / riding mower, I read charging a battery with more than 10 amps can damage it. The Motomaster Battery Charger 11-1504 allows a 2 A, a 12 A, and an Engine Start mode. Can I use the 12 A mode? The Engine Start mode?

A: For your lawn tractor/riding mower, we recommend using the 2A only. Charging small batteries with 12A can shorten the life of the battery

Q: For my lawn tractor / riding mower battery, how do I see what percent charge it has? The manual says "For the 2 A charge rate, use the triangle". What triangle? How do we use it?

A: I have the next model up from this one, 100 amp engine start, looks the same, same manufacturer. Recently after using it I noticed the ammeter was stuck on full scale, even though it was working okay otherwise. I ordered a new ammeter and when I went to put it in the old one was back on zero and worked fine when I tried using it. No idea why it was stuck at full scale before. It is my observation that these chargers and their components are very cheaply made. Just opening it up and putting it back together is a nightmare. My advice is if it's working okay otherwise, just leave it alone. It might even fix itself.

Q: I plug charger in and overload light comes on right away
I can not charge anything with this charger

A: By "overload" do you mean "full charge"? If so, this happened to me as well and I put it on 2A charge for about 20min. When I came back, I unplugged it and turned it back on in 12A position and it was at 0% charge. I dunno why any of this happened.

Q: Boost Car Battery
Do I need to flip a switch to tell it I am going to boost a car battery? Also Would it hurt the unit if I leave it plugged in at all time?

A: No, just connect the battery, leave it 5 minutes and then start the vehicle.
a 2 amp trickle charge is a bit high to leave connected for long periods, but 24 hours would be fine. For keeping boat, ATV or RV batteries charged, buy a battery minder. Charge a week on and a week off.
