Beautiful design, Handle, and Escutcheon. But ....

This shower trim has beautiful handle and escutcheon. However, for a new construction installation, the shower valve MUST be installed with exactly 'Finished Wall' thickness measurement. Especially if you will install Tiles in the shower, the total thickness of the wall including : the waterproof drywall, thinset mortar , the tile...must be measured. But how can one measure exact thinset mortar thickness before setting the tiles in ?? That is why at the end, my shower handle sticks out too far from the escutcheon because the finished wall of my shower is a little thinner than originally estimated during the rough in installation of the shower valve in the wall. I wish Moen makes a shower trim kit that Handle installation can be adjustable to be closer or farther from the finished wall. For me, now I have to live with an imperfect Shower Trim in that I originally love so much when I first see it in the store.

Hello HenryT and thank you for the feedback you posted on the Moen website. The handle on the Moen Method Posi-temp shower handle trim kit is not meant to sit flush to the plate. Up to a 1" gap is acceptable for installation. The measurement of your finished wall is required to fall with the 1" range for the handle to attach properly. I have installed Oxby faucets, towel bars and toilet paper holders in all three of my bathrooms. I wanted something to go alone with that style in my tubs. It took a half hour remove the old hardware and clean up surfaces and about ten minutes to put the new hardware in place.

Yes, I recommend this product.
