Well made unit. Cleans well and automatically adjusts to carpeted floors. The only negative’ is that it feels less ‘at home’ in the hand than my Dyson vacuums and starts to feel heavy early on. Very good performance, though.

Not Great for Area Rugs

Bought this vacuum to replace an old worn out Dyson. The vacuum is quite a bit heavier than expected. The beater bar shuts down when trying to vacuum the area rugs. It works alright on the regular carpet in bedrooms though. It's great on the hardwood floors and has plenty of suction.

Not so good on carpet.

We decided to upgrade to a better vacuum, and bought this Miele cordless one. It looks sleek, runs quiet, and was cleaning very well... until we tried it on our area rug. The suction was strong enough to pull up the rug. But that meant it pulled the rug into the brush roll hard enough to stop it. Now we can't vacuum our rug. In the manual it mentions that this may happen with certain carpet/ rug like deep pile carpet; and the solution is to turn it off and on to reset it. This doesn't help to actually get our rug clean as it needs a reset every two seconds. We found it worked great on hardwood and low-pile carpet, but we need to have something that can also handle our other mats and rugs. Our old vacuum cost half as much, and worked on all our flooring; this was not the "upgrade" we were expecting.
