This little gem works just fine provided you actually read the instructions and dont assume you know everything. I removed a small machine bolt broken inside the casting and it worked just fine.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    Amazing!

Bought this sceptically, hoping to remove two bolts that broke off under the surface of the bolt well. I figured 5 dollars was not a huge risk. was I ever surprised! following the instructions, I drilled the correct size hole in the bolt (hardest part, since the bit tends to wander). After that i smacked this in with the hammer , connected my drill and reversed those bolts right out. a nice, but unmentioned feature of this is that the extractor is magnetic which made is super easy to remove all the shavings from drilling. and also the fact it is rock solidly built. I had to beat on this with a steel hammer , an then used a drill. After that I inspected for damage ( To see if I could use it again) only the top where i beat on it was slightly rounded, but thats all. if this fits the bolt size, and you follow the instructions it should work. Also , to ensure you take my review with a grain of salt. My bolts had very little torque applied to them since the head broke up and all the torque got released. If your trying to remove something that has been in there for years and this is the first time trying to take it out, your mileage may vary.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    4mm setscrews no problemo!

I really messed up a 4mm set screw in a tight place and this was the tool to save my butt! Follow directions and it works like a charm. I didn't think it would get that M4 x 4mm long set screw out but, it did it

    Yes, I recommend this product.

Q: What do you use to grip the extractor? The bit extractor was able to bite into the screw, but my drill cant get a good grip on the extractor and it's spinning in the drill. What should I do? I think the extractor should've had a bigger shank for the drill to grip.

    • A: The Mastecraft screw extractor is not designed to be used in a drill. Instead, we would recommend you to use a tap wrench which you can use it slowly to wind out the screw, for example you can use the Mastercraft Tap Wrench (0587192) to help your job done smoothly. Hope you find this information is useful.
