    I don't recommend

These are tapered plug cutters. They are very rough inside, that means rough plugs and overheating. I made these cutters to work by grinding and polishing. If you don't have a mini grinder, diamond stone and some leisurely hours, you are on the hook. TiN coating is a joke on this overall poorly made product.

No, I do not recommend this product.

    good plugs when used correctly

Made by the German firm Mibro, these are well designed to cut tapered plugs. It is essential to use a drill press and an appropriate clampling system - don't even start without these on hand; works as expected. Note that these are tapered - not the right tool if you want a traditional straight cylinder-type plug. The plugs are smooth walled and tapered in a manner that allows good, tight seating in the hole - great idea to use forstner bits for that to achieve a smooth entry hole. Used on teak for >12 months in the 1/2 and 5/8th sizes; I've used standard and tapered plug cutters.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    Worst Purchase Ever

This is something i will never buy again from canadian tire. These plug cutters will chew your piece of wood up right away. Dont attempt to try, unless on a scrap piece of wood. I dont have a drill press but borrowed one and used it and it didint work at all. Spend the extra money and get something that is decent and that will work

No, I do not recommend this product.

    1 - 1 of 1 Question

Q: Will this drill a round hole in drywall? Need to create a hole to run thru some ethernet cable from one room to another.

    • A: No (well, of course it will chew a hole in anything but you won't like the outcome!). It is not intended to make a hole in something, but rather to cut around an area of wood to make a plug. Sounds like you need a standard drill bit, much cheaper too. If you need to make a fair-sized hole, consider using a hole saw, available as either a single size or inexpensive sets.
