Great drill

Mine lasted 3 years and 5 months. Then the motor seized up. Unfortunately no parts available, drill no longer available and batteries do not fit newer model.

I haven't used another drill...

...since buying this one. I have three other drills, and haven't met a job where I've needed to break out the big half-incher.
I'm on my third year with this drill.
I've used to cut with big hole-saws (up to 4"), to drive decking screws (built 2 decks), and drill holes of every size imaginable.
Chuck is excellent.
It tightens by hand very securely, whether driving or removing screws. The torque clutch works well too.
Battery charges more quickly than it discharges.
Other drills I've owned have stopped taking a charge after the first year.
This one is like new so far.
Can I leave more than 5 stars?

Dans les petits pots, les meilleurs onguents ! Excellent pour les petits travaux, très bon pour les moyens et encore passable pour les plus gros.
J'ai construit un patio et je vissais des vis de 3po1/2 avec cette perceuse. C'est sur que ce n'était pas la plus rapide à le faire, mais elle le fait quand même.
Bonne autonomie de pile et se recharge rapidement.
Même à prix régulier, ça vaut le coup pour des petits travaux.

Greatest drill ever

This drill is small but mighty. I have had a lot of cordless drills in the pass but this one has never lets me down, after 3 years it's still going strong. I now owned two of them in case it should go out of stock.

I bought this on the CDN Tire tool sales event and I'm happy with my purchase. This is a very good speed to the drill up to 500 rpm and is easy to hold. Quality product and recommended for drilling around the home.

Q: Does not include batteries/charger at store... I just picked up the small 3.6V on sale and was looking at this one as well. It says on the box that the batteries and charger were NOT included?? The rep even opened the box to confirm. I am pretty sure it was the same one, same price anyway.

Q: Where can I get a downloadable manual? I just bought this drill and, of course, it came with a manual - which I will inevitably lose at some time. So I like to keep a digital manual for all my appliances. Anyone know where to find one for Mastercraft tools (esp drills)?

Q: drill or driver or impact? what's the difference? Can anyone elaborate? I know drivers are for more torque, but do ALL impact type have just drill/drive, no impact settings? I like the idea of a 1/4" driver (super small size) but wonder if it drills also? How?

A: I believe Cantire sells a drill/ driver as a "hybrid" which can be used to drill or drive with a preset setting. However, an impact tool is something different; for max torque like to remove lug nuts on your car. You can also buy a drill which is secured into a driver coupler. Part number is 54-3509-6.

A: yes, but the cheapest way to do it is to buy another tool when on sale. They come with 2 batteries and all work in all the 12 volt cordless MC lineup.
