I use this heater for my chicken shed in the winter with a thermostat controller. It works great just on the low setting. Then after a couple years of the heater tube burns out you have a spare.

Two Major Weak Points

Noticed the pull chord was very flimsy right off the bat. Actually was frayed where it exits the heater body. The light on the heater should be more aptly be named a night light. Luckily I have a separate mounted light over my work bench. Decided to turn the heater on the iii setting and just plug it in when needed and unplug when done. Heater part does take the chill off in the immediate vicinity of my work bench. Ditch the light and put a stronger pull chord on it would help a lot.

A: It says in the instructions that there should be three feet clearance in any direction from the heater. That might not work for you

A: Technically you can. I have 2 in my garage (on different fuses/circuits) and I sometimes leave one on for long periods (sometime days) and it has been fine. Be aware that 2 heaters on the same circuit will trip a 15amp fuse.

Q: What height of ceiling or mounted position gives the optimum amount of heat dispersion?

A: i have a sloping ceiling in my shop so although the installation instructions said to install on the ceiling, i've installed on a wall about 8ft from floor. I've angled the heater so it aims at about 4ft level. Works very well. I've got it plugged in with one of the Canadian Tire Geeni smart plugs so i can set the schedule on my phone and turn on from inside the house.

A: The light is on on both heat settings and there's a light only setting. This is good so you do't forget to turn it off.

Q: Could this heater withstand any humidity such as in a room with a hot tub present?

A: I had it in my greenhouse for a season with no problems.The humidity was quite high at times. I would put it on a ground fault interuption circuit if are going to be using it near a hot tub just to be safe if there is a short circuit or fault to ground. You can get a GFI for the breaker or at the plug.
