Garbage

Garbage. Heater barely heats and fan is almost non existent. Waste of money. Canadian Tire USED TO put out good products. What happened? Scooped snow out of my snowblower and like 3 handfuls left I couldn't reach. Took 2 -1/2hours to melt out.

A: Shuts off when reaches heat setting. When the unit reaches extremely high temperatures the heaters thermal fuse will shut off permanently for safety. Best not to leave unattended, like most electrical devices.

A: It says 3 feet clearance, but don't waste your money on this heater. It won't warm anything up more than 1 foot away!

A: It does not give specific temperature given that it works by sensing the temperature of the space it is in. There are only 4 settings and that includes OFF. The HI setting (double flame far right) has the highest intensity and will heat up fast. The lower setting (single flame) is used once the room is comfortable and then the temperature dial on the right would be dialed back until the heater shuts off. You have now set the temperature you want the heater to maintain in that room.

A: Honestly, I wouldn't be as concerned with the airflow as much as the heat output. With 120v heaters there is a significant trade off between airflow and heat produced. I've had higher airflow heaters, but the element can't keep up with the fan, and precious available watts are used up pushing lukewarm air around!

Q: thermostat functionality Once a desired temperature is reached, how do I set the heater to maintain that temperature? Turning the temperature knob counterclockwise until the click does not appear to work? Room cools but heater stays off.

A: According to the directions the power switch is to be set at HI only for a fast warm-up then set to the lower setting and the thermostat dialed back until the heater shuts off. If your unit won't come on could it be that it is set in the HI position?
