Poor quality control
Well I hate to say that I can now see why most people mock the master craft brand, especially if CT doesn't ever get things done right by their manufacturers.
I bought the saw because it had the biggest available work area of anything on sale across any stores at the time, and with the pull out wings even more room to handle bigger pieces
Now the good is done on with the bad
The blade was out of square alignment from the mitre slots front to back by more than 1/16" which caused issues ripping pieces with nice true straight edges, even after losening the front bracket bolts to adjust the whole assembly it was still 1/32" out and I had to pull the whole thing apart to try and get that back elsewhere, after spending so long convincing myself my novice hobbyist woodwork was the issue for less than perfect square edges I finally realize it's the shoddy manufacturing quality that gets passed off as ok
The blade arbor flanges are not milled perfectly flat so when my blade spins I have a small amount of runout visible by minor blade wobble which again affects any chance of a nice clean cut, after thinking I had bent my blade slightly I went out and bought a couple of new ones only to find out the issue again was due to poor manufacturer quality control
The fence was out of true by 1/8" from front to back but eventually I have got that reasonably close but I shouldn't have had to spend a couple of days tearing something down fully to try and jimmy rig fixes for a product that should have been checked better by the manufacturer,
Needless to say I will avoid mastercraft power tools from now on if I can

wrong product
I researched online for a table saw. 2 came up in the approximate price range, a Rigid and the Mastercraft. I selected the Rigid on the web site however, when my wife picked up the saw it was the Mastercraft. Now the site is no longer showing the Rigid as an option and the sale is over. Very disappointing to say the least.

Good Deal for a Table Saw, Longer legs please
9 years ago
I bought this Table saw a CT when this was on sale ( it was a real deal at the price I paid for it. The saw works well and has been put through some good use while we were renovating our kitchen. Instructions are fairly clear and you dont need to be a master mechanic to use it or put it together.
The saw is fairly decent and works really well. My only complaint is that the legs could be a little longer which would be really nice. I find it a little short for my liking but I put some blicks underneath to raise the height.
The other thing that would be great and the more expensive models come with is the extension for for the table which would allow you to have more stability with the object you are cutting, other than that a great buy for the price that I dont think you'd be able to find elsewhere
Yes, I recommend this product.

useless assembly instructions
Seems to be a decent saw, but I have only used it for a short time. I had a fencing project and was looking forward to my new 15 amp Mastercraft. well, the assembly instructions were quite possibly the worst I've ever encountered. The language at times made no sense, the diagrams were pathetically small and unclear, and no glossary of terms was provided. This was particularly annoying when it came to installing the blade guard and related parts. After 2 days of hits and misses I was able to make my first cut. In the meantime my partner had to borrow a saw from a neighbour so we could get going. Not impressed !!

Q: Does it come with a Dado insert plate? If not can It be bought seperatly?
5 Answers
A: It DOES come with a Dado insert. However, don't expect to make large cuts. It is a very short arbor. I can fit the two 1/8" blades and up to 1/4" spacer; that's it!! If you're looking for a saw for dado cuts, keep looking.

Q: WHY DOES THE SAW NOT CUT STRAIGHT?
When I try to rip a 2 by 4 the saw will not cut straight.
Before half way the saw is dragging the wood away from the fence on the saw.

A: The drift in the fence (wider after the wood passes the blade) is there to allow the wood to naturally separate after the cut. Since the blade cuts at the leading edge, this along with the guard support and anti kick back pawls are designed to stop kick back of your material. The amount that the fence is out at the back should match the thickness of the guard support.

Q: Is there a dust bag for this saw?
4 Answers
A: I've seen aftermarket generic ones for sale, but they're not cheap.
I found the easiest solution was to sandwhich a 1/4 panel (or whatever you have handy) between the top of the stand and the bottom of the saw, where they bolt together. Fasten a dust port to connect it to your shopvac. It works quite well.

Q: is there an option or connect a vaccum or dust collector on this unit?
2 Answers
A: It's a wet saw, so no dust is created. All the tile dust ends up as mud in the bottom of the water trough and you do have to clean it out once in a while.

Q: Is there a replacement table insert (for saw #55-6737-2) around the blade to replace the red plastic one, something in aluminium?

A: I have looked into this myself. For the older models that came with plastic inserts they only have replacement plastic versions. A stronger material would be nice.
