Questions

Q: What kind of battery does it use? Does this alarm disarm after it alerts for a period of time?

1 Answer
  • A: This alarm system include 3 “AA” batteries, required for operation. The batteries have an expected duty cycle of 9 months. While the system is armed: once the alarm is triggered, the alarm will constantly sound for 30 seconds. Press the “disarm” button once to turn the alarm off prior to the 30 seconds. If the alarm is not disarmed within the 30 seconds, the alarm will automatically reset to armed. A further violation will continue this cycle perpetually. When the user returns to disarm the alarm, the alarm will give 7 short chirps to alert the user that the system has been triggered.

Q: Is this a vibration activated alarm? If not, what activates it?

1 Answer
  • A: The Alert Alarm is a motion activated alarm system which detects movements through changes in its position from the time of arming. The orientation and position of the alarm at that moment it is armed by the fob becomes the units reference point. When any change to that reference point is made the alarm is triggered. It is not vibration or pressure sensitive, but large or strong vibrations may cause enough movement to trigger the alarm.
