This is the second one we buy. We especially use it for hot pot and as our family grows, we needed a second one. We also use it outdoors or camping. Induction is the way to go.

Hi Ali Grant, with 1800 watts of power, the MASTER Chef Portable Induction Cooktop is certainly capable of boiling water.
To ensure proper performance, we recommend reviewing the instruction manual carefully to understand how the unit operates and which types of cookware are compatible. It’s also important to use cookware with a diameter between 12 cm (4.75") and 20 cm (8"). Using cookware outside of this size range will prevent the unit from functioning correctly. CustomerCare

Hi Daryl, E2 error code is usually an indication the sensor under the cookware is overheating. Make sure the fan is working and the unit is well ventilated. CustomerCare

Questions

Q: Is There a Way to Shut It Completely Off Without Unplugging? The On/Off switch doesn't seem to work like an On/Off Switch. Switching off still leaves the On switch lit with dashes in the information bar. You turn it off (completely) by unplugging? The manual is unclear about this. Did I get a defective unit?

  • A: When I press my power button, all of the lights turn off except for the power light, which blinks (indicating it’s still plugged in). My fan will typically keep running until the unit has cooled down though, even if the rest of it has turned off.

Q: Can this be used with regular cookware or does it require specific pots and pans?

  • A: They can be used with regular pots and pans provided the bottoms are magnetized. You can test your pots and pans very easily with a magnet. If it sticks you are good to go. It seems most newer pots are ok.
