We used this outside on our porch to boil maple sap from our tiny sugar bush. Much easier to manage than propane! It turns itself off after two hours so no danger of forgetting it. Quiet and hardly costs anything to run.

Bought this to sear steak for the bbq and cooking on my back deck. For searing steaks it works great you can sellect your temperature and sear away heats up fast so I'm very happy. Should work great on my back deck for breakfasts thou not tryed yet.

Q: Is There a Way to Shut It Completely Off Without Unplugging? The On/Off switch doesn't seem to work like an On/Off Switch. Switching off still leaves the On switch lit with dashes in the information bar. You turn it off (completely) by unplugging? The manual is unclear about this. Did I get a defective unit?

A: When I press my power button, all of the lights turn off except for the power light, which blinks (indicating it’s still plugged in). My fan will typically keep running until the unit has cooled down though, even if the rest of it has turned off.

Q: I hear you can only use magnetic cookware on the induction cook top. Can the non magnetic cookware be made magnetic by attaching some way a magnetic base to the non magnetic cookware. i think i read somewhere one can.

Q: Can this be used with regular cookware or does it require specific pots and pans?

A: They can be used with regular pots and pans provided the bottoms are magnetized. You can test your pots and pans very easily with a magnet. If it sticks you are good to go. It seems most newer pots are ok.
