The Magellan 5120 is one of the worst electronics purchases I have ever made. It is absolutely garbage. Note the following problems: battery does not hold charge for more than 1/2 hour or so (can only use it plugged in); works in slow motion (slow calculation); all addresses for Edmonton show up as Calgary addresses! this is very confusing if you use it in both cities; Map updates are free, but are not up-to-to date; and it is not intuitive to use (especially bad when combined with extremely slow processing). Oh and no bluetooth. Positive: nice sized screen and good window mount.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Hi All This is a great unit for the price. I got it at 115$ all taxes included when it was on sale. Note if you experience slowness after updating the map and the software. I purchased this GPS and I updated the Software and the maps directly afterwards. When I did this, I had a slowness problem on my newly purchase unit. I fixed this by defraging the internal memory of the unit. Warning: Make sure the Unit is fully charged before beginning. Use the procedure below at your own risk. Copy all files from the unit to your disk as a safety precaution first. Steps to defrag: --------------------- -Perform this on a Windows 7 PC -Install Content manager -Connect the unit to your PC -After the PC recognizes the unit -Go to my computer -Right-Click the Magellan Disk -Choose Properties -Choose Tools -Choose Defragment Now -Choose the Magellan Disk -Choose Analyze -Chooze Defragment -Wait till the defragmentation is finished -Safely eject the device from your PC -Disconnect the device -You're good to go Hope this will help.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

I bought this unit on sale price of $100+hst yesterday and regretting the purchase now. The touch screen does NOT work at all. Talked to Magellan support, they advised to upgrade the software through PC which I did. After the software update, the unit takes 15 minutes to load and then touch screen still does NOT work. I am taking it back to CT to return this unit. Do NOT buy this unit.

Hi All, I had magellan maestro 5310 before and it was working fine, but I've to pay for map updates. I did buy Magellan 5120 LMTX GPS with life time updates a week ago, but unfortunate it wasn't as I expected. It has 2 problems as far as I know 1) The map is not up to date even with updating the latest version 2012 map, but it still missing some streets that already built since 2007. 2) The city name is not right. I live in Edmonton, but all POI's and current location says Calgary. I spoke to the customer service in Magellan Company and explained them these two issues step by step and they understand the problem and they admitted that it is a bug in their map and ask me to wait a month for a new update, but I can't wait so I returned it back to the store.

No, I do not recommend this product.
