    Magellan to Heaven!

    Oh boy the Magellan GPS 500 sure is one heck of a direction guide. It is not only better than the comparable Garmin with respect to direction giving and voice options, but it is also a much better name. It is sleek, sly, and sporty! I strongly suggest all drivers to go out and buy one. We need to refrain from relying on our smartphones as this gives the incentive to text while driving. Don't text and drive!

    Cet appareil est simple car il possède les fonctions essentielles sans gadgets inutiles. Un gros avantage est la mise à jour gratuite des cartes qui tient compte des changements sur les routes, même les plus récents. Un accès à internet est requis pour faire ces mises à jour. Pour tirer le plein potentiel de cet appareil mieux vaut télécharger des instructions plus complètes sur le site web de Magellan car le manuel fourni n’est qu’un résumé. L'écran tactile est un peu petit ce qui le rend moins commode pour une personne ayant de gros doigts. Le temps d'évaluation pour les déplacements manque quelquefois de précision. La voix en français pourrait être améliorée car il y a parfois des prononciations inadéquates. Malgré ces dernières remarques, c’est un appareil dont je suis satisfait.

    • A: This particular model does not support uploading mapping content for Europe. Consumers can purchase an SD Card on the Magellan website that will allow use with European mapping in select models. More information is available at www.magellangps.com
