I purchased this online and had it delivered from a store in my area because there was only one in stock in an out of the way store. It arrived and the coloring presented in the online photo and the coloring in reality were completely different. Specifically, the dark nickel base which is actually more brown then the silver/black you see in this picture. I took it back to the store to return and informed them of the misrepresentation which they did not offer to correct. They refunded me for the fan but refused to refund the delivery fee I had paid. I will not be purchasing online via Canadian Tire again.

Q: Why are light bulbs in this fan burning out so quickly? I've had this fan installed for 4 weeks and I have replaced 3 energy efficent spiral CFL light bulbs. Why are these bulbs brning out so quickly?

A: My fan motor hums constantly at all speeds and aside from being irritating it is a vibration. It may be, this vibration (frequency) is not well tolerated by some CFL bulbs. I use CFL's in my very expensive Hunter fans with no issues. Also it's worth noting that there are vastly varying degrees of quality regarding CFL bulbs. (ie A six pack for $6.00 may not be the way to go.)

Q: how do i wire up this unit? there was a light fixture in my rec room.i am installing this hugger unit.the light fixture was hooked up to a wall switch.how do i wire the hugger with the wires in the box?

A: If you have no experience with electrical work I would recommend hiring a professional electrician to do the job. If you have some experience with electrical work then just follow the installation guide. Having a switch does not affect the installation of this unit.
