15 amp, really???

The only problem with this is that the screw heads (typically the green grounding screw) are too small to properly and safely screw on the wires, and it is hard to install a 16 AWG (13 amp cable) to it, so I cannot imagine a 14 AWG (15 amp cable) going on these screws. It is better using this for 18 AWG (10 amp cable). I used this plug a a 600 watt dimmer switch extension cord, and it works good. (Note: 18 AWG cable can be too thin for the cable clamp, so do put electrical tape around the cord's insulation to make the cord thicker so that the cable clamp can grasp the cord better.) Still, this plug is excellent for turning a cord that has been cut-off of an old electrical appliance into a 10 amp ultra-light duty extension cord.
