The white plastic adapter simply slides over the .406 inch shaft of compatible rotary dimmers, fitting snugly into place. An easy, inexpensive solution for those who prefer the convenience of dimmer switches but have existing Decora wallplates installed, this adapter means no need for costly replacements. Cheap plastic

Made from cheap plastic, use to be metal, that’s why I bought it not reading any description of product. Would not have purchased knowing it was plastic (easy to break).
