Absolutely necessary item for wood fires

I have had these exact gloves bought at Canadian Tire over twenty years ago. They have some black on them but the quality is just as new. We heat with wood and I use them everyday of wood burning season and could not do without them.
No problem placing logs over hot coals or even placing my gloved hands directly in the fire for a few seconds to re-arrrange logs and they are fine. They are clumsy at picking up hot coals that roll out of the stove on very cold nights but they do allow you to pick them up,which bare hands would not.
I highly recommend them if you seriously heat with wood and want to protect your hands...worth every penny!
