Poor quality Hoover - no warranty

We used our cleaner for 2 years maybe 4 times a year. Had to change the belt once. It was terrible to clean around the brush area. Had to use a hose to flush out the debris. The last time we went to use it, it just blew up. Same as what Pollywog said. It made a whirring noise and it fried! Never again for a Hoover product.

great until motor blows up

I've had this machine 3 years, and used it maybe 8 times... today i turned it on and got a loud humming and terrible burning electric stench, then nothing..! Reviews in other places give it one star for this reason and i would agree... too bad the company has gone downhill so badly.. . Now I have to go find another one and it will sure not be a Hoover!

ok performance for an ok price

it says 12 inch path but really you get like 9 or 10 inch of cleaning because theres 2 inches with no spining brush on the left side. you have to remove hair from head very often. i'm guessing maybe all the complaints from burnt out belts are due to hair clogs or other jams of the sort. on carpet the tank sizes are ok, you get a small room 80sqft done without stopping. I'm lazy and got this to do my tile floor so i wouldn't have to scrub it and it does a good job but the dirty water tank is too small. it does a good job of getting dried ketchup off the floors. Assembly was very easy but it only works properly when you pull it. on the push it leaves everything wet. using it while only pulling leaves a carpet that's very dry and clean.

Q: Dual Purpose? Is this vacuum cleaner used "specifically" just for shampooing carpets? Or can it also be to simply vacuum the carpet, without needing to shampoo it?
