    I can't believe Honeywell put their name on this. the stop doesn't work and it leaks water out onto the floor, then once you fix that then it just won't stay on. the red light appears to come on and then it shuts off for no reason lots of water in it and no reason why it should shut off. Then you can't just turn it on and off you have to leave it off for an extended period before it'll come back on and then it just keeps doing the same thing.

    No, I do not recommend this product.

    Works well. Cheapest way to add moisture to the air in the winter. Needs cleaning out every two weeks but is the easiest job i’ve ever had with this type of humidifier. Even a small home about 1000 sq ft can require more than this alone when temps fall below freezing.

    I bought one it lasted 30 days bought another thinking possibly defective nope same issue. Do not buy this completely junk and a good waste of money.

    • A: My response may be late for the original inquiry,but I wanted to say cleaning's NOT the only issue.Many units are quite forgiving if there's some scale on the element.After going through TWO of these,and still waiting for Honeywell to contact me 3 winters later.I have concluded it's a design flaw for this model: thermostat sensor;water tank sensor.

    Q: How the humidity level is maintained? when I turn the humidistat counter clockwise until hear a "click", the heating stops. So does it supposed to switch on automatically when the humidity level goes down? Thanks

    • A: Yes, when you turn the humidistat to the left and it clicks that means you want it drier than it is, so the unit will stop making steam until the humidity level drops enough for it to automatically start.

    Q: How much power does this unit use? What is the power consumption of this unit (watts)... unlike most electric appliances I can't seem to find anywhere that shows it's power rating. Thanks

    • A: 400 watts or 8.8 kWk per day of continuous usage. Ultrasonic humidifiers use one tenth the electricity because they do not vaporize water by heating. This unit, on continuous use, would use as much electricity as my entire house, which runs on 9 - 10 kWh per day!
