This air filter is well build with a plastic cap on both ends (the black parts on the image). I have been using it in an Honeywell air purifier 50100 and it does a excellent job at removing particules and dust from the air. However, it's not a permanent filter but considering that they recommend to change it every 5 years, just slip this filter in your air purifier and you won't have to worry about it for a while... You just have to vacuum it about once every two months.

Yes, I recommend this product.

A: Ce filtre s'adapte sur les modèles Honeywell: séries 50100, 10500, 10590 et 17000. Vous n'avez pas besoin de le changer régulièrement car c'est un filtre permanent qui est en mesure de se faire aspirer. Vous pouvez le changer si vous préférez.

Q: These pre-filters are for the Honeywell True Hepa Air purifier Model # 43-5050-8, my first question is how many are in the package? Since I'm still stuck on having to buy these pre-filters for a HEPA filter unit, do you think it's still worth it as they are costly and I have a ULPA air cleaner now that requires filters at $49.99 (2 in a pack)?

A: You only need one 43-6024, for model 43-5050. Once you buy it, it's then permanent - no need to replace. The replacement filters are all permenant.
