H2K Stainless Steel Roaster

I have this roaster few years and is very handy in my family. I like size of it, I like little vents on it, I like the fact that is done from stainless steal. Price is very good. My turkeys are always very large but I found the best settings for it. For 3 hours at 400 F, with closed vents. Additional 20-30 min with open lid for beautiful golden colour. My roasts are done under 2 hours at 400F. I think all magic is in closed vents and right temperature.

Tried it with my Thanksgiving Turkey.put Turkey in at 350 at 12, checked at 3:30 still raw. Increased oven to 385 still raw at 5. Transferred to my black enamel roaster and cooked perfectly. I'm total 8 hrs to cook a Turkey. Yes my oven is 100% accurate with its temperature. I'll never use it again, garbage.

This roaster is a great size for turkey and turkey with dressing. There are steam vents and food comes out moist and evenly cooked.. The big drawbacks are that it is very flimsy especially the bottom of the roaster. The other is that the drain wells are not deep at all, they do not drain as well as my other roasters. Also you should not use it to make gravy in as the bottom is too thin to handle direct heat. If you use a meat rack it does a good job with roasts and potatoes together on a 10 degree lower temperature and longer roasting time.

Clearly a great buy for any household. What an awesome price.

This is a great turkey roaster. It's made out of stainless steel, so you don't have to worry about the health dangers, real or imaged, associated with cooking with aluminum. This roaster has steam vents, which can be opened or closed to allow the steam to escape while cooking, and closed if you have to put the whole thing away on a hot plate or a cutting board in your fridge. It comes with a trivet, which is a little hard to clean. You can get the cooked-on food off using SOS pads, but the trivet wears out faster than the pan. The pan itself is very durable. The durability of the trivet is less, which is why I am giving this item a durability rating of 4 out of 5 stars, rather than 5 stars, but this is still an excellent rating. The pan is very big, and will accomodate a New Zealand leg of lamb or a very large turkey, be it stuffed or unstuffed. It's very neighbour-friendly, and you can have a neighbour roast your prepared turkey while you go out, because your neighbour just has to pop the whole pan into the oven. You only have to baste the turkey for about a half an hour to an hour using a turkey baster with the pan uncovered in order to have a beautifully roasted turkey that all of your family and your guests will enjoy! If you are cooking a New Zealand leg of lamb, there is a recipe on the outside packaging for this type of lamb, which turns out tremendously well and is very nutritious, appetizing and healthy, as lamb contains a lot of iron.
