Hello Derek. We are sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues with the chain coming off your pole saw. Chains should remain securely in place during normal operation, and we understand how frustrating this can be.

Common causes for the chain coming off include improper tension, incorrect installation, or a worn chain/bar. We recommend:

Ensuring the chain is properly installed and seated on the bar.

Adjusting the tension so the chain moves smoothly but does not sag.

Inspecting the chain and bar for any signs of wear or damage.
We have included a video for your reference that may assist you if you experience any challenges. It offers a step-by-step guide to replace the bar and chain for the 60V pole saw. Please find it here (https://youtu.be/NO8YlkRmtKI).
If you continue to experience issues after these steps, please reach out to our customer support team. We are happy to assist with troubleshooting or provide replacement parts if needed. They can be reached either using the online chat function, on Greenworks Tools page, accessible by clicking “Chat with an Expert” in the bottom corner of your screen, Chat with a Live Agent I Monday - Friday: 9:30AM – 5PM EST or by calling 1-888-909-6757 between 9AM and 7PM EST, M-F. Saturday: 9AM to 5PM EST. Sunday: 9AM to 5PM EST. Q: I recently purchased a Greenworks lawnmower that came with a 60v 5.0 battery.. I also have a greenworks chainsaw with a 60v 2.5 battery. Is there any difference in using either batteries in either tool. Could both be used for a GW. 60v polesaw?

A: Hello BC55 - Thank you for your question. The difference between the two batteries would be the runtime. A 2.5Ah battery would offer approximately 1/2 the runtime of the 5Ah battery. While, either battery can be used in the pole saw, the only issues you may experience using a heavier battery is the added weight to the unit which may not be as comfortable to handle as a smaller battery. Hope this helps!
