This is long overdue

We get quite a few power outages in my area, being at the end of the dirt road. It is nice to know that I have power when the grid goes out. A great comfort to my Family.

very dependable

have 3 gens all working 100% no issues so far. the first one we bought for house backup was in 2013 and no problems, 2nd one bought for another house in 2016 same, 3rd one bought in 2018 and sat outside (covered with tarp) just started it up last week (dec.2021) no problem. we will be changing the oil and filter this week just to be safe. overall great products. thnks

We just purchased this Generac for a new home but we have had a Generac for years! It has always been reliable, low maintenance, and cost effective. Our Generac starts every time the power goes out so it's a feeling of safety knowing we will always have power. We would definitely recommend Generac!

Q: What size propane tank would I need to get to run this generator. The tank would be running the generator only.

A: A 400 lb tank won't deliver enough fuel to run the generator at full load. Needs to deliver 272,500 BTU/hr. Google "Vaporization rates for propane tanks" 500 USG tank is required. A 250 would be close to enough but the suppliers I contacted don't sell them.

Q: I bought a 16 watt unit for my house and was told that would supply adequate power. I have had three [two hour outages] ,furnace, two frigs, furnace, two computers, two t.v.' and a couple of lights were immediately powered up, am I over-taxing my generato

Q: What size pad is required to place this generator on?

A: Our Home Standby Generators now come with a Honeycomb bottom that you can put down on limestone screening and small gravel and will suffice so a pad is not a requirement any more. A concrete pad is an ideal solution though but does cost more. Pad size should measure 52.5” wide x 29.5” deep.

A: the consumption of liquid propane varies depending on how hard the HSB is working. I have outlined the following consumption levels as litres consumed per hour. ½ load – generator is operating at 50% capacity: 7.70 litres per hour Full Load – maxed draw on the unit working hard : 11 litres per hour

A: Yes, these generators are tested to start in up to -40 degree weather – but anything home standby in an area that drops below zero should be equipped with a cold weather kit (oil filter, breather and battery) to ensure a smooth start. All of the cold weather kits are available from Canadian Tire.

A: All Generac product sold to CT are CSA or CUL approved, both permitted by the Canadian government, and all the products are built for tough Canadian standards and winters.

Q: Can someone please clarify for me. I assume the units CT is selling would be CSA certified. Did someone get fooled here or did the valve change have nothing with the actual Generac unit? I wouldn’t think CT would sell something that wasn’t CSA cert?
