A Real Gem

I am a avid outdoorsman. I purchased this GPS knowing that I would have to purchase the additional maps. I have since purchased several maps such as navigation road maps, a couple topographical maps which compliment each other, and the ATV trail maps. This device is easy to read and understand. I have no worries about getting lost. It is a real gem.

A: You can record a track marking your start, inbetweens, and end. Garmin® GPS receivers are accurate to within 15 meters (49 feet) 95% of the time. Generally, users will see accuracy within 5 to 10 meters (16 to 33 feet) under normal conditions. A: Yes, the eTrex series are rated for IPX7 where the IPX-7 Waterproof Standard details the item is protected against short durations of water immersion. Max immersion for less than 30 minutes and at a depth of less than 1 meter. Please note that they do not float

Q: Are the maps for the eTrex 30 the same as Garmin car gps maps? I purchased a lifetime map subscription for my street pilot 330 a few years ago. Can I add the eTrex to my account and get free map downloads for it?

A: The eTrex 30 can accept road mapping. This can be purchase as a DVD, microSD, or downloadable content. If you wish to upgrade the mapping in the future, using lifetime map subscription, you will need to purchase the DVD version.
