    Fit perfectly on my FRAM oil filter. Also bought the Motomaster 74 and 76 mm wrenches and both of them did not fit. Seems to be solid and did not bend/crack at all after getting it stuck on the filter because the filter was so tight. On clearance right now so wondering if I should buy a few extra ones in case they disappear and my current one breaks/bends.

    It doesn't work.

    The tool has a large tolerance. My oil filter was 75.6mm and it was too loose and slipping. It couldn't do the job.

    A solid tool

    I have used this cap wrench to remove oil filters and check tightness of new filters after installing by hand. It works best on oil filters that have the black textured grip material on them. The tool can slip a little on the plain metal type oil filters, but usually gets the filter off. I get the best grip if I first push the cap wrench onto the oil filter, then insert the extension bar tip into the square hole on the cap. There are no worries about cracking this cap wrench, since it is steel and has good reinforcement around the square hole for the extension bar.

    USE A PAPER TOWEL BETWEEN WRENCH AND FILTER

    As others have noted, sometimes the fit isn't good enough and the wrench spins. I put a paper towel over the wrench, then pushed on to the filter and it was like magic... all of a sudden the wrench gripped properly. The quality of the wrench is not high, but this little trick may make it workable for you.

    Tried two standard oil filter wrenches, no luck. Matched the filter to this wrench at the store, magic. Get the right size and a very stubborn filter comes off easily.
