We were moving a Queen sized mattress. This cover made it a breeze. Didn't have to worry about getting it dirty, brushing the walls, or anything. Also, it is loose enough to give handhold like gripe to the mattress.

I definitely prefer the material of this one to the plasticky ones, but the zipper broke after only about 2 months use.

I've purchased a few of these so far. They're really durable and don't make any wierd crinkly noises when you move around. Keeps the mattress underneath in brand new condition. Well worth the price. 3 years running with my first and no rips at all despite being set onto an unfinished wooden platform. I do hope they continue to make these as its the best quality mattress shield I've found yet and for a good price.

A: DO NOT buy these for bed bugs. These are more or less plastic and rip easily. Not worth the money

Q: Which side of the protector goes up and which one faces down - there is the breathable mesh side and the more plastic like side.

A: Hi, there is no obvious up and down side. They are both the same. Its the same material on both sides. The only thing I looked for was where the zipper was.

Q: Why does it smell of vinyl when it's apparently polyurethane? Concerned about toxicity. Thanks.

A: The smell associated with PU can sometimes be similar to the smell of some vinyls. Once the package is aired out the smell quickly dissipates. This is common and in no way toxic. The safely levels we adhere to meet or exceed government regulations.
