This is a mediocre, at best, quality of furniture. The press-board is thin and flimsy, the holes for the fasteners are not strong because the pressboard is not very dense. The ‘backing’ to stabilize it is a joke. It doesn’t complete cover the back and instead consists of 5 pieces of thin cardboard each covering only one of the nine squares. And although it is not needed to fit inside the box, each thin cardboard piece comes folded in half. I am glad I got it at 50% off. I was able to buy a sturdy backer board to fit the whole shelf and use the provided nails to secure it. Now at least I trust it won’t totally fall apart with light use.

A: Absolutely. They come with pre-drilled holes on the top and bottom of the units and dowels to allow you to stack them. You can stack in any combination (2 - 9 cube units, 1 - 9 cube and 1 - 6 cube unit or 2 - 6 cube units.
