Poor extension arm but otherwise a good tool
a year ago
I brought this a few months ago. It seem to work OK with the exception of unlocking and unlocking of the extension arm. No matter which way I turn it, it stays tight and never loosens. I have pull it out or push it in to the length I need it and it's very tight to fo either.

Sturdy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Does exactly what it's meant to do. I used this before seeding and it got the job done with no problems. It's sturdy and the telescopic feature is very nice! Another plus is that it is not too heavy. I have a shared backyard with a neighbor and we both have really enjoyed using this to keep our backyard in top shape!

The best cultivator

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When grass is walked upon, the soil underneath packs. This does not allow either water or air to reach the root system. The grass starts turning brown. An aerator opens up and loosens the compacted soil and the grass looks better and needs less water. Until I got this Fiskars unit, my grass did not know what it had been missing.

Good For Moderately Compacted Soil

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently had the opportunity to get this tool to help loosen and aerate my soil. Fall season is here and I have started preparing my garden beds for next year. I have heavily compacted soil and needed something to break up the soil so that I can plant some vegetables for next year. What I like about the Friskars Cultivator is that is has a long, adjustable, telescope that is great for when you are not able to do a lot of bending. So far the pole stays locked in place. The blades are pretty sharp, but I will say that the tool is not for heavily compacted soil. I had to put a lot of effort in working the soil in small garden beds. What would be great is if this product was electric with a removable battery. This would be great for people who don’t have a lot of strength but would be able to till their soil without using any heavy machinery. Again, it’s good for moderately compacted soul but not much more than that.

Very helpful after a back injury

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After i hurt my back i thought i wouldnt get to do any gardening for a while but i was able to do some light bed prep with the extra reach this tool gave me and not have to be bent over for a few hours. It was very light weight and easy to push.
