This is junk and will be returned. The parts of the cage that are meant to hold the basket open (without overextending itself and falling apart) don't line up, needs to be tied together in order to not fall apart when open. Instructions say do not bike with it in closed position - without having a quick release mechanism, this makes the folding feature basically useless, as you have to bike with it open all the time (can only fold it when parked).
No, I do not recommend this product.

Easy to install, it comes with everything you need. It's easy to open and close no problems with reference to the clip in the middle. With a little pressure from your thumb, everything works just fine.

Its made from very thin grade metal, I have not as yet put anything into the basket as the weather just hasn't been favorable enuff for a bike ride. Not made like they used to be when I was a kid. I do not like the culapsable style.

- A: 10lbs is the safe riding limit. The basket will hold more, but its difficult to ride safely, so 10lbs is the recommended limit.7 years agoHelpful?

- A: This is a 3 in 1 folding carrier. Along with the basket is a set of instructions and hardware to mount it in three different positions: as a front basket, side pannier, or as a rack top basket.
