Q: Can this primer be used on plastic bumpers? Is it ok to use it with DupliColor aerosol paints?

A: We recommend you start with a Grease and Wax removed (like product # 0476108) to ensure you remove any potential mold release agents from manufacturing. After removing all dirt and debris and preparing the surface area for painting it is recommended that you use a primer like 047-1024 Value Primer, or 0472673 Perfect Match Grey Primer. If you apply a couple of coats of an adhesion promoter like our Duplicolor Adhesion Promoter (product #047-6558) it will really help the paint stick and give it some flexibility. You can then apply your vehicle’s specific colour of Duplicolor Perfect Match aerosol paint. Or if you are painting a generic plastic bumper we also have grey bumper paint (047-1032), Medium Silver Bumper paint (047-1033), Charcoal bumper paint (047-1034) or Black bumper paint (047-6550). If you are looking to renew the look of a faded plastic bumper we also carry a Duplicolor Plastic and Trim restorer (047-1007)

Q: What is the primer's solvent base? Is this a lacquer, enamel, or acrylic based primer? Will it stick to both ABS plastic and metal?
