Good little machine

I bought this to replace my approx 15 yr old Delonghi EC155 basic model espresso maker that stopped working. I wanted another basic little machine, nothing too fancy that would break quickly, but does a decent job. This one is overall pretty good, though it's missing a few things that my old machine was better at. The old one had a built in tamper which was great, this one comes with a separate plastic tamper and scoop, meaning another thing I have to store in a drawer. This one is also noisier and vibrates quite a bit, so I often have to hold my cup in place as it tends to move with the vibration. The steamer seems to do the job, it's maybe a little on the frothy side, though that could be a matter of technique. The water tank lets you see how much water is in it which is good, though it doesn't go quite to the bottom. This one is also an inch or two bigger all around from my old one, which may not sound like much, but it is noticeable on my small counter space. I'm no barista but I'm happy with the espresso that it puts out, so overall, I'm happy with it. While I think my old Delonghi was better, this one is a decent little machine for a good price.

who wants a luke warm espresso? It makes a lot of noise. The frother is garbage. It just shoots hot water into the milk and makes a ton of noise and mess. Waste of money. It's going back to the store tomorrow.

A: Makes a really quick and delicious cup of coffee. I make Americanos with mine all the time. Water and espresso, then add whatever you like, cream, sugar. Amazing cup of coffee.

A: You don't need to buy any pods which are expensive. You can just buy any ground espresso coffee from anywhere in the world and use it.

A: Since this machine is meant to make espresso, it does not make much sense to use anything other than espresso-grind coffee. And for best results, you probably should use an espresso roast. If you use something coarser or lighter than espresso coffee, the results will be weak and watery by comparison. But I have used it with Trung Nguyen coffee to make Vietnamese iced coffee.

A: It'll make a perfect froth and heat up just a bit, not super hot...or maybe i didn't just tried it to heat up or boil my milk thru the frother.. i will try that sometime..
