Nice looking knives that will last less than 6 months

I bought this set a year ago at an "unbeatable price" (80% discount). The truth is, this set's real value was way less. After 6 months of daily (household, not heavy duty) use, the first one of them broke at the handle. 6 months later, two other knives had suffered the same fate. The poor making of these knives results in rust being accumulated at the top of the handle. The picture attached shows the third of these knives that broke today. It is not surprising that the product got discontinued after many negative reviews noticing the same defects

No, I do not recommend this product.

Falling apart

I bought this fpr my husband for Christmas a year and a half ago and it is needing replacement already. The decorative ends of the knives are falling off, one handle snapped completely and the knives areot sharpening properly. It has a lifetime warranty but it is literally not worth replacing with more poorly made sets.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Terrible Quality - But Good Cuisinart Service

As with most folks here I too had the same issue with knives rusting inside the handle & subsequent breaking of the blades. I bought these on sale a few years ago & have since lost the receipt. So you can imagine the pain in the butt I went through on two occasions when I went to Canadian Tire for replacement knives....Frankly hardly worth the aggravation. So when the Santoku knife broke this time, I emailed Cuisinart (Conair) directly & explained the issue. They sent a replacement to me free of charge right to my door with no hassle at all. Great customer service Cuisinart! The way it should be when you purchase any item with a lifetime guarantee.

Do NOT buy these knives

I've had these knives over a year. The blades look great and stay sharp but the handles have come loose on all the serrated knives. The paring knife handle snapped off and the metal inside the handle that is 1/8" thick rusted through. I can't believe Cuisinart put their name on this set! Big disappointment...

No, I do not recommend this product.

Expensive CHEAP set!!

Thought I bought the last set of knives I would ever buy, was I wrong! Metal inside handle rusted and the “nice” lil paring knife broke! Not impressed, as I have moved since I bought the set, I have lost track of where the receipt has gone. Will do a bit more research before I buy my next set. I really enjoy cooking and would like a nice set of knives to grow old with!

No, I do not recommend this product.

Questions

1 - 6 of 6 Questions

Q: Is there a special requirement to sharpen knives coated with titanium?

2 Answers
  • A: The sharpened blade part is not coated with titanium like the rest of the knife. Standard sharpening works on these knives.

Q: Are these knives all Titanium or just coated? if Coated, what type of steel and where are they produced?

2 Answers
  • A: They are only coated with titanium (or whatever it may be - the "black" coating). The steel appears to be a standard china-made steel and does tend to chip as easily as other cheaper knives on the market.

Q: Are these dishwasher safe?

  • A: Good knives should never be put in the dishwasher. The Soda used as detergent in the washer degrades the edge.
