Beware of burning plastic odour

Unfortunately, the previous negative comments about the odour are true. When treating grill for first time use by applying some cooking oil and heating, the smell coming from the unit was intolerable. It was more than just the usual odour when first using a non-stick surface; it seemed to be the smell of burning plastic, presumably from the plastic surrounding the grill. I can't see how this ever will get better and will return.
No, I do not recommend this product.

I’m a traditionalist when it comes to waffles. For breakfast wafers I was a smaller honey comb, you can apply syrup or fruits more evenly and lightly. This machine is compact and simple to operate. I’m still working on adjustments but the waffles are nicely and quickly cooked. The cook is pretty even with only the outer edge being lighter than the center. No oil or grease is required. Clean up is easy. If used properly this unit will make hundreds of waffles during its operational life.

Q: Removable irons? Can the waffle irons be removed for cleaning? & does the irons require oiling on every waffle?

A: No the irons can't be removed for cleaning and doesn't require oil when making a waffle. It has a nonstick surface. I just wipe mine clean.

A: Hi, Thanks for reaching out with your question. If you're referring to the plates for the waffle, the answer is no, they are not removable for cleaning. Please never take your unit apart for cleaning. It is simple to clean the unit. To help guide you, i have provided the detailed steps for cleaning below. Hope this helps: Once you have finished baking, remove plug from electrical outlet. Leave top lid open so grids begin to cool. Never take your waffle maker apart for cleaning. Simply brush crumbs from grooves, and absorb any excess cooking oil by wiping with a dry cloth or paper towel. You may clean the grids by wiping with a damp cloth to prevent staining and sticking from batter or oil buildup. Be certain grids have cooled completely before cleaning. If batter adheres to plates, simply pour a little cooking oil onto the baked batter and let stand approximately 5 minutes, thus allowing it to soften for easy removal. To clean exterior, wipe with a soft dry cloth. Never use an abrasive cleanser or harsh pad. NEVER IMMERSE CORD, PLUG OR UNIT IN WATER OR OTHER LIQUID. Thanks
