Loud

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love a grind and brew coffee pot. The grind process is much louder than I thought it would be. The grinder needs to be cleaned after every use.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Not so great features, sounds nice but not ideal

only cons for this coffee maker, would rather use my $20 coffee grinder and a $100 coffee maker... Bought this thinking it would be nice to have it all in one. CONS: - Grinder is insanely loud, to the point I usually turn it on and walk out of the room... - The grinder is too small, you can only make about 7 cups (max) before coffee starts to get too weak. Can't put anymore beans in the grinder to make the coffee stronger. - The pot is designed in an odd way where there is a big lip around the top. Not an ideal design. - Cleaning is a hassle, the grinder has to be taken out every time. The coffee grounds in the grinder cake to the inside because of the moisture from the hot coffee. So if you don't clean it every time it probably will be a concern. I usually rinse my coffee maker anyway, but this has 5 pieces I have to clean every time... My advice: go with something simple, and buy a $20 grinder, I had that setup before my coffee maker broke, and would gladly go back if I could. Had this coffee maker for roughly 6-9 months and will be cutting my losses.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Mmmmm hot fresh coffee

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We love it. Fresh coffee is something special and we love our coffee it was easy to assemble and the instructions were clear. It's an appliance that needs cleaning with each pot but it brings the morning fresh, fragrance and taste of hot brewed coffee so WHO CARES!

Not good

We found that the coffee maker bean grinder is ridiculously piercing loud. And it only allows you to put enough beans in there to make about 6 cups even though it says 12 cups and the coffee taste weak.

Takes too long to clean

This machine is nothing like the one we had before. Tho older Cuisinart auto grind and brew was the best coffee maker I ever had because the hopper and grinder was self cleaning. We replaced it because the screen broke at the plastic. This machine is a disaster. The coffee beans grind ok and it shoots the grounds into the basket no problem. It makes a decent cup. The cleanup is too much work. The water does not pour through the grinder like the old model we had, it washed the grounds down into the basket. This thing you have to remove the grinder every time and wash all the leftover grounds down your drain, then set it aside and let it dry or it turns into a sludge jam. The amount of extra work far exceeds just grinding the coffee beans in a portable grinder and adding it into the basket manually. I would not recommend this machine and I wish I never bought it. Bring back the old model!!!

Q: How often do we have to change charcoal filter? Is it required? Thank you

  • A: It is required and they’re reasonable priced.  It depends on how many pots of coffee you make but for a pot a day you should be good for about 4-6 months

Q: can you grind the beans the night before so that it isnt noisy in the morning?

3 Answers
  • A: Hi, You can grind beans the night before and use the Grind Off setting in the morning if you’d prefer less noise. Please note that coffee may lose some freshness when ground in advance. Q: how long does it stay on for? does it have a self clean its self?

2 Answers
  • A: The element under the glass carafe stays on for two hours and keeps the coffee very warm. It plays a short tone before shutting off. It does not have any self-clean functions. In addition to replacing/cleaning the filter and rinsing the carafe, the grinder needs to be rinsed/cleaned after each use.

Q: Why did Cuisinart change the design to such a cheap grinder that is difficult to clean

1 Answer
  • A: It's not a cheap grinder. But the grinder is slightly difficult due to the moisture. It still easy to use though
