Overall very happy with this coffee maker, which was a Christmas gift, replacing my Keurig, sorry Keuig... I was skeptical about the size of the scoop (1 Tbsp), but brews like 2 Tbsp, so saving on the amount of coffee used. I like the reservoir area, as it is easy to pour the water in. The grinder is very powerful, (a little loud), but does an excellent job, very fine coffee. I have not run into any downside on this coffee maker, very happy!

Q: can you grind the beans the night before so that it isnt noisy in the morning?

Q: how long does it stay on for? does it have a self clean its self?

A: The element under the glass carafe stays on for two hours and keeps the coffee very warm. It plays a short tone before shutting off. It does not have any self-clean functions. In addition to replacing/cleaning the filter and rinsing the carafe, the grinder needs to be rinsed/cleaned after each use.
