A: Yes. When I make fries for myself I always use it as it is convenient for smaller as well as larger loads. That said, an actual deep fryer is safer with a flame/red hot heat source (I use induction so fire's pretty much a moot point for me).

Q: Hello! The answers above do indicate that this product is PFOA free and from the other answers I gather it is Teflon free. Is it also PTFE free and what is the max temp it can safely reach? Thank you!

A: The cast iron wok has no non-stick coatings. Perhaps you are thinking of the nonstick model.

A: Yes. Of course there is a fire hazard if deep frying in any open pan when using red hot electric or flame stoves. On induction the fire hazard is much less. This pan works fabulously on induction--even a single burner 120V induction plate.

Q: How do we clean this cast iron non-stock wok? Can I use steel wool for cleaning? Is it oven safe ?

A: Never wash if is very hot cool off. Just use soft sponge to wash off the surface no brush or scrubbing. I never put in oven I think the wood might not be able to stand high heat maybe low heat is fine.

A: No, you need to preseason the wok with oil always. So far I have not encountered that sticking the food to the wok. I usually cook on low mode rather than high or medium

A: No. And it has a wooden handle, so not recommended in the oven! It's a great wok, easy to clean and don't need to re-season like regular cast iron.

A: No, we don't have to deep frying on heavy flame, I just heatup the oil I need to deep fry to the texture and colour I like. If not sure drop in a small piece of meat to check the heat. No seasoned but used hot water to clean and wipe dry.
