Clam Twin Hub 2 New Owner is pleased

Hi, Bought it on sale for 99 bucks from 200. I would definitely get another unless you are in for all out comfort with bench seats and floor and all, Excellent Shelter. Picture doesn't do it justice, I can see 3 adults fitting in it. 2 people and you can wander around with gear inside. I would rather see it called a bubble/dome instead of teepee. The windows are in an excellent spot, no more standing up to see out them, but they are a bit on the thin side. should be wider to see out with both eyes. (Wash them before you go out, they have an oily film on them from factory) Easy setup with 2 people and collapse with 1, haven't been able to setup by myself yet but I dont anchor it down either which I think you are supposed to do. Fabric would be a lot better if it was darker, all you see down the hole is a reflection of the blue roof. Just bring a dark tarp to throw over the roof Set it up with your back to the sun and holes on the shadow side - fabric doesn't block enough sun. The Picture on the box is false advertising!!!! The carry bag shown with the guy carrying it is a completely different model of tent. This thing is an 8 foot long tube with an 8 foot long shoulder strap, Think Long downhill skis with boots and poles all bundled together with a long sling for shoulder strap. The pad on the sling slides freely so once it tips the whole bag slides to the front or back. Recommend stapling or sewing the shoulder pad in the spot where it is comfortable before going for a long ice hike without a sled. PROS: Lightweight and simple Lots of fishing and elbow and gear room Tall low windows are in an excellent place CONS Carry bag is awkward, 8 foot tube Fabric doesn't block enough sun Rain guard on "D" door gets caught in zipper near floor - typical tent i suppose Windows are a Teeny bit not wide enough

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    Great Shelter

I got this shelter when it was on sale for 99.99 it was a great deal. We use it all the time it has a lot of room, it is extremely portable and easy to setup. The ice anchors are easy to drill in even by hand, however , CLAM does have a drill attachment for them. I would recommend this to anyone if they can find it on sale. It has vent holes for any heater you want to bring in it. The only issue I could for see is this would be a pain to setup on a windy day alone.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    Great Tent

This tent is great very easy to set up and take down (minutes for each) fits two people and all gear perfectly. with a small heater stays fairly warm for being in minus 15-20 temps . been out with it 4 or 5 times since we bought it on sale when it was 119.00 , great value 15 pounds with a shoulder strap doesn't seem cheaply made , I would recommend to anyone

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    • A: It comes with 4 hand screw ice anchors, Haven't tried through solid ice yet but was able to screw them into the top surface ice/hardpack easy enough. I brought a drill and bits just in case. Might be worth welding a nut on top of the handle to spin it with a nut driver in a drill

Q: Does this require set up with poles and does it take more than one person to set up?

    • A: I havent been able to set it up by myself yet, I also havent watched the video on how to do it yet either. Two people makes it easy. Flop the tent open, each person grabs the hub pullcord, pull at the same time and up it pops. to collapse, pop one side in, flop the still open wall on top like a roof and push it's hub down into the tent.
