CIL Golfgreen Surestart Xtreme Grass Seed and Fertilizer, 2-kg

Still waiting on most to grow, some has come through but Terribly patchy. Don’t bother with this seed

I bought this seed a month ago and put in on my father's grave...wow! now less than three weeks it needs to be cut....I put on the grass and it seems firmly rooted. Now I am wondering if i should cut it as it's over 3 to four inches.

I have worked on lawns for many years. I take great pride in having one of the nicest lawns in the neighborhood. I spend alot of time and energy on it. Way more than the average person. I have never seen grass seed this bad, EVER. I bought this which is described by the vendor as being PREMIUM grass seed. I have no idea how they can say this. I bought 6 bags which each was supposed to overseed a 3600 square foot area. Concentrated about 75% of it in an area about 500 square feet. Can hardly tell any grew if you can believe that. I aerated beforehand. I limed. I tested my soil for PH levels and moisture. Weather for the upcoming weeks look nice and warm. Set my irrigation system to water it accordingly. Was near perfect conditions yet hardly any seed grew. Only thing that seemed to grow was ugly crab grass type grass. I had nice rich green grass before. Now I am close to killing it all off and starting over because it looks so horrible. Bag says money back guarantee. Basically bought it because of that thinking it must be good if they are willing to stand behind it. Sent email outlining my issue with the seed, explained everything I did, sent pictures to show how back it was. Keep in mind bag says you will see results in 7 days. Ya right. They told me that the is the fescue (crab grass looking grass) which comes up then the nicer grass will take a few more weeks. Told me to be patient and it would grow,. I told them it was 5 weeks already. They said wait another 2. It did not get better. I went back again and said I want my money back. Quit giving me the million questions and talking to me like I don't know what I am doing and refund my money. They would finally but here we are another two weeks down the road and still nothing. Did some research on seeds and the more reputable vendors actually put details of what percent of their seed you would expect to grow. Most around 75-80%. This, from my experience, is about 2%!!! Most good, PREMIUM brands indicate they are 99.9% or 100% weed free. This doesn't say but the label indicates there is 98.5% a blend of the following grasses but doesn't tell you how much of each kind. That remaining 1.5% must be weeds or fillers, none of which is good. I read that .5% would actually infest a 150 square foot area with 1000 weed seeds at that rate. 1000!! This is why I now have so many weeds whereas I had almost none before. This brand likely has 1.5%, three times this amount!!!! I have no idea how they can sell this. The bag certainly looks nice LOL. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY NOR TIME WITH THIS COMPANIES PRODUCTS!!

Some locations had poor coverage while other areas nothing germinated. All areas received the same of seed and watering. Did better with Canada Green which is cheaper.
