Nice design but a faulty bottom bracket

I've had my bike about a month and the bottom bracket broke on me. I took it back to Canadian Tire and I explained what was going on. They adjusted the front and back railers but they couldn't figure out the issue. I needed to take my bike to local bike shop who adequately diagnosed the issue and advised that the bottom bracket was a old design which is susceptible to wear and tear and breaking much sooner on average. Not sure I can refer new comers to city cycling to consider CCM bikes.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Great road bike for the bicycling enthusiast

Purchased this bike 2 weeks on sale. Smooth ride and top notch features (disc brakes, aluminum frame, etc.). The bike is very light and can handle different terrain well. If you can purchase it in sale then I would say totally buy. There’s a lot of bang for the buck when it comes to this bike.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    Questions

    1 - 10 of 10 Questions

Q: Is it good for a person 5'10"high.

    • A: I am 5' 9" and find it very comfortable - although I've always preferred a larger bike for loading some hiking gear.. There is a sticker on the seat tube that says it's for 6' and above but there is lots of adjustment in the seat post. It is a really good bike for the price.

Q: Would this bike fit someone who is 5"10

    1 Answer
    • A: Standing height is only one factor when choosing the correct size bike. One should also consider inseam length to make sure there is enough stand-over clearance of the top tube. There are other factors to consider as well once mounted on the bike such as correct saddle height, and ensuring your upper body and arm position is comfortable and allows you to easily reach the shifters and brakes. We’d recommend you speak to a bike department associate at your local Canadian Tire store help you with this.

Q: What's the maximum weight (a person's weight) this bike can sustain? For the person asking if it's a good bike for someone who's 5'10" -> You truly need to go in store for that because it all depends on the length of your legs.

    1 Answer
    • A: The industry standard is not to apply weight maximums to bicycles, we prefer to educate the customer on the intended use of the product. We would suggest speaking to the Department Manger of your local Canadian Tire store to find the bicycle that best suits your needs.
