Honestly I couldn’t tell you why these reviews are so harsh. I got it, it’s perfectly stable you just have to make sure to tighten everything before fully assembling. The weight is great bench is secure and you can also curl. I got this as a gift for my younger brother as a 300lb max (including user) is a little too light for me but I see great support for my brother. Very happy

First confirm if store has physical item stocked

Was told to purchased in store first prior to them physically locating item if I wanted to get for the sale price(which is understandable) They assured me it was at on offsite warehouse. Cap makes good equipment but perhaps procedures need to be adjusted to reflect accurate stock available for each store. This isn’t the first time a CAP item was impossible to find, improperly stocked or inaccurate stock levels shown online and in store system. Either this is a procurement, supplier, manufacturer, warehouse management, or logistic issue but this has happened too many times specially with CAP items. Really unfortunate.

A: It comes with 100 lbs of weights and the bar weighs 5 lbs for a total of 105. The bar is 1 inch thick and so I wouldn't put much more than that.

Q: I can't seem to get the Weight bar together. there are only pins for it and they just stick out and fall out if its turned am I missing something in the manual it only shows these two pins to put in the holes of the bar to hold both sides together and it doesn't really work.

A: Please reference the first page of the manual where it provides a diagram and the directions below . This will guide you on how to secure the pins for the bar. The pins must be tapped in with a hammer until they are flushed and secured. Directions per manual: Insert the Inner Bar (1) into the Outer Bar (2) and align the indicated holes. Using a hammer, tap the two Roll Pins (3) into the holes until they are flush with the Outer Bar.
