Disappointment

Was very excited when I got this so that I could finally make my creme brûlée and found this to,be a total disappointment. It just kept shutting off on me and it takes many tries to get going again. Spent 10 minutes in total frustration browning my dish when it should do the job in a minute or less. Perhaps I got a faulty unit but I'm done with this!

Q: How do you change the butane? How do you fill it with the fuel? What kind of fuel can it use? How much does the fuel cost?

A: Use only high quality butane gas for refill. Shake gas container a few times to warm fuel up. Move flame adjustment slide to “-“ position. Do not overfill. Back spray of liquid gas from filler valve indicates that the torch is full. Always clean up any butane overspray before lighting torch. Insert the container nozzle vertically down into the gas filler valve. After fueling, allow 5 minutes for gas to stabilize. Cost of butane differs by retailer.
