Absolutely my favorite router in the shop

I have three of these in my shop. #1 in a table with prolift from Rockler. #2 in a jig for dados and grooves. #3 in the plunge base for freehand use. the two extra fixed bases are in jig platforms that are used often but not as much as #2. the extra plunge base is used primarily for juice grooves, it is configured to stop tipping when running on the jig. All in all these are long time users and made to last the test of time. I do not use ¼" bits in these, I'm a little heavy handed and breakage can be a problem if I exceed the push factor.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Poorly/Flawed designed fixed and plunge bases

Fixed Base (above and below table): Because the motor is only supported on one side when adjusting height, the bit is not perpendicular (square) with the base. As with most things that are supported only on one side, they tilt to the other side. Tilt remains when motor clamp is engaged. The machined clamping glides gall (damage) the motor housing when adjusting the height. Then it starts binding so much that it breaks the micro adjuster. The flimsily retaining clip is popped off, rendering the micro adjuster useless. Plunge Base: The plunge action is stiff and binds on the support struts. Causing an uncontrollable jerky plunge action. The depth-stop turret rocks on its support. So, the plunge depth is not consistent. The depth-screw adjuster is near zero friction (very loose), so it doesn't stay set. Like a loose bolt, vibration causes it to spin loose etc.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Great tool and very powerful for flattening slabs. My only reason for not giving it 5 stars, i cant find a dust extraction hood for my plunge base. None online seem to be compatible with this model. if anyone at bosch can lead me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated

Yes, I recommend this product.
