Rip cut 4" boards from 12" wide lumber

This is a great tool! The largest project I used it for was making a 6 foot high fence from 3/4" boards, and using this Matrix accessory I rip cut 4" boards for it from 12" wide lumber. I have also used it to trim small branches and cut the occasional 2x4 (which requires a cut on top and bottom to reach through).   As far as the blades go, I have found using the original, OEM B&D blades give the best results.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

I have owned this trim saw for 10 years. I am now just replacing the blade, which I cannot find in any stores.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

This guy is NOT like a power saw. It doesn’t like PLYWOOD PERIOD!!! It cannot be adjusted for depth or angle. It does cut any real wood product about 3/4 or less. It is very accurate for straight cuts follow the marking and line it up with your own and it will make you proud of its accuracy.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

The trim saw attachment is one of my favorites. Often used for any sheet material (hardy-board, plywood, osb...) Great for those patch jobs!

    Yes, I recommend this product.

This attachment is so easy to use for many small projects. So far I have 6 other attachments for my Matix and couldn't be more pleased with all of them.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    • A: The “Trim Cutter” head for the Matrix Drill has a 3-3/8” 24T blade that can cut a variety of materials including trim, plywood, paneling among others up to 1” depth but does not have a depth adjustment.

Q: How long before the battery wears out cutting 3/4" plywood I checked online but couldn't find out how long a cut this saw could make in 3/4" plywood before the charge runs out.

    1 Answer
    • A: The battery being used 20V or 12V will make a difference and so will the amount of pressure applied during cutting. It is difficult to tell exactly but expect the battery to last for an hour of regular but intermittent cutting.
