Starts fires in windy weather, super fast and I am sad it's now discontinued because I would like to get one for everyone I know who spends time out in the bush, winter or summer.

    Excellent tool

I have used similar ferro rods in the military, whilst hunting, and when teaching my bushcraft and survival classes. In my opinion, this rod throws sarks more easily than any other, and the sparks are larger, hotter, and more numerous. Add the fact that the handle acts as a small tinder box for a vaseline soaked cotton-ball, and it's a winner. Some critsize its size: I see its size as a strength; it's not as if it's huge or eavy and being slightly chunker, it is easy to use when you're cold/wet/tired and you have to rely on your gross-motor skills. Good value, robust, easy to use, incredibly effective, has space for tinder..... I recommend it.

    Yes, I recommend this product.
