This is not a TRI-light, its an ON-OFF switch

The product description says Tri-socket ring so i thought I could replace the tri-light socket in my old floor lamp with this one which looks exactly the same. After purchasing and installing it I realized that this is just a simple ON/OFF socket not a TRI-light which has 3 bulb settings - low - medium - high.
So I ended up exchanging this one for the Atron LA943 tri-light socket from Candian Tire. I unscrewed the LA943 cover to get the socket out and then installed it in my floor lamp while keeping the old cover and ring.
If you are getting this one, the rubber turn knob does come off if you wanted to replace it with a longer turn knob that usually come with floor lamps. Use needlenose pliers on the metal stem to hold it in place and another pair of pliers to spin the rubber counter clockwise. Then screw your new turn knob on.
