The socket works perfectly and easily disassembled and modified to fit different lamp bases. The only thing that would make it better is if the turn knob stem can be made longer so it can fit larger diameter lamp bases.

Easy to install, sturdy, but knob not changeable.

The on-off knob turns both ways to activate. Felt quite sturdy. However, I could not detach the knob and adhere my longer length knob, which was important to me because of a very specific style of floor lamp I installed this on.
