Q: Is the Amsterdam Fireplace energy saving ? Please give an estimate on energy cost of running it non-stop for 24 hrs.

A: Unfortunately, we cannot tell you the exact cost of energy on a fireplace when running it 24hrs. We offer the wattage information on the manual and with that information the customer can contact the Hydro company and request to have this cost calculated. However, we do not recommend to have the fireplace running for 24hrs nonstop.

Q: What is the minimum frontal distance away from objects I wold like to know what is the minimum distance this unit must be from items located in front. Also if there are any other limitations.

A: The flame is not real. it is only a 40 watt light bulb inside flickering to look like fire. It has a small heater a fan inside for heat. No restrictions to objects in front.

Q: Noise? I just purchased this fireplace and find that the flame feature is quite noisy when turned on. The fan/heater is not on at the time. Is this normal?

A: Follow the instructions for changing light bulbs, to remove the glass etc. Once the unit is open, you will see the 'spinner' which created the flame effect. There may be kinks in the spinner which is causing it to scrape on the metal. You can straighten this with your fingers. Also check the 2 screws holding the flame motor are secure.
