Very flimsy

Hard to believe this is actually hardwood. They're too light, too thin and not at all sturdy. Hammering them in to the soft soil of our raised bed, 2 of the 6 broke immediately at a weak knot in the wood. Unfortunately, there's no way to tell how light or thin each piece is before buying them because they're packaged tightly together in thick plastic, which gives the (wrong) impression that they're strong enough individually to be hammered in and to hold up tomato plants, as the diagrams on the package suggest. Won't buy these again and can't recommend them.

I bought these to straighten up 6' weeping tree that the wind tilted it out from.the roots. Trunk of the tree eas about 4" diameter. They made of strong sturdy wood, easy to hammer in with rubber mallet, strong enough to hold the tree upright with proper rope.

Q: What are these treated with? I thought I could use in inside for some tall plants that need support but they smell horrible and affecting breathing, can’t keep them in the house.

  • A: Hello, I used my stakes for small fruit trees. They are a hardwood and are not treated so they should be fine to use in the house.

  • A: They come in a variety of sizes from 2ft-6ft. I used them to put a wrap around small trees we planted to keep the deer from eating them last fall. They worked well and are Still holding up. I purchased the 3’ and 4’ from the drop down selection online and did curbside pickup. Cheers

Q: Is the wood treated? Does it have any chemical on it?  I would like to use it in my vegetable garden.
