Flame King tanks are pre-purged vacuum ready for filling with LP gas and are x-ray and hydro-static tested plus Department of Transportation (DOT) and Transport Canada (TC) certified. Each tank is constructed from high grade welded steel and powder coated for long lasting durability.

A: That would very much depend on the patio heater itself. Some of them have room and are designed to handle a 30 Lb propane tank as well, and some can only handle a 20 Lb propane tank. It all depends on the patio heater manufacturer and the space they allowed for the propane tank.

A: It would depend on the bbq. The overall height of the 30 pound cylinder is 23.4” and the diameter is 12.2”.

Q: What does priming mean when buying a tank? Does this cost money?

A: New RV propane tanks must be primed to regulate the atmosphere of the tank before filling it with propane. New tanks are often filled with pressurized air for shipment, and if the air is not purged with propane vapor before filling it with propane, the tank will be difficult to fill. Priming a new propane tank is a safety issue as well. Filling a new propane tank with propane when it already contains pressurized air can cause a buildup of pressure that causes the pressure release valve to trip and release large amounts of propane. There is no charge to prime the tank.

A: All propane tanks are made to the same specifications and codes, the major difference between the 2 items is the manufacturer. And yes, this tank is suitable to be used on an RV provided they are mounted externally on the vehicle.
